Is this a discussion about meraaindiatube.com? I wonder what standard is used to determine which site design is good or bad. Good design is a relative term and any one has the right to air their views. They could be wrong, they could be right. The question is, what is a good website design?

Rashmi and Ravindra,

Thanks for the comment. I agree that the businesses do not see a slick design as a priority.

I do not agree with Ravindra, giving free does not mean adding pop ups. There are several ways to monetize the traffic with a good design.

They can still embed advertising in content for a well designed site rather than embeding content in the advertising.

I am agreed with rashmis wording, it is not because of bad designers, it is because website is free and no one is paying for the services like Rediff, yahoo mail account. so how they can make money .... by adds and pops only....as simple as that.

Yes, we do have both designers and developers working in India. Design happens both in US and India.

In general I don't think bad design on Indian sites is because there aren't good designers in India. I think it is more reflective of what the business prioritizes.
